The pitch is divided into a 3×3 grid. Your formation distributes players across defensive, midfield, and attacking zones. Your Attack fights their Defense, your Midfield battles theirs, and your Defense faces their Attack. Winning zones increases your chances of scoring. Certain positions also support adjacent zones — CDMs help defense, CAMs help attack.

Assign one of your players to shadow an opponent's key player. Your marker sacrifices 20% of their own PS, but the target loses up to 30% of theirs.
