    1. About Us & Acceptance of Terms

    World League Manager ("WLM", "the Service", "the Game") is operated by Bearworks LTD, a company registered in England and Wales ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and enter into a contract with Bearworks LTD. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. We may update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

    2. Description of Service

    WLM is a free-to-play, browser-based multiplayer football management game. The core game is available at no cost. An optional premium subscription tier ("Supporter") is available for enhanced features. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, including game features, mechanics, leagues, competitions, and schedules, at any time without prior notice.

    3. Eligibility

    You must be at least 13 years of age to use WLM. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. We reserve the right to request proof of age or parental consent at any time.

    4. Account Registration & Security

    You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Each individual may operate only one account. Creating multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage ("multi-accounting") is strictly prohibited and may result in permanent suspension of all associated accounts.

    You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised use of your account.

    5. User Conduct

    You agree not to:

    • Exploit bugs, glitches, or unintended game mechanics for personal advantage. You must report any such issues promptly.
    • Use bots, scripts, automation tools, or any third-party software to interact with the Service.
    • Harass, threaten, abuse, or use offensive language towards other users via in-game messaging or any associated channels.
    • Manipulate the transfer market, match results, or any game economy through collusion with other users.
    • Impersonate another user, moderator, or staff member.
    • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service.
    • Share, sell, or transfer your account to any other person.
    • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

    Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination at our sole discretion.

    6. Fair Play & Game Integrity

    WLM operates a competitive multiplayer environment. To maintain fair play:

    • Match results are calculated by our match engine and are final. No appeals or replays will be granted.
    • Promotion, relegation, and competition outcomes are determined by in-game standings and are binding.
    • We reserve the right to reset, adjust, or void any game data (including transfers, results, and standings) if we determine that foul play or exploitation has occurred.
    • In-game club management decisions (lineups, tactics, transfers) are each manager's responsibility. We will not intervene in legitimate tactical choices.

    7. Supporter Subscription

    7.1 Overview

    WLM offers an optional premium subscription tier called "Supporter". Supporter status provides access to enhanced cosmetic and convenience features. Supporter status does not provide any competitive gameplay advantage; the core game remains equally accessible to all users.

    7.2 Merchant of Record & Billing

    Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"). Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns, refunds, billing, and tax compliance. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Paddle's Buyer Terms and Refund Policy.

    • Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected at the time of purchase) and renew automatically until cancelled.
    • Prices are displayed inclusive of applicable taxes where required. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
    • You can manage payment methods, view invoices, and cancel your subscription at any time via the customer portal accessed through your account, or directly via paddle.net.

    7.3 Cancellation & Refunds

    You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain paid benefits until that date. Refund requests are handled by Paddle in accordance with our Refund Policy. If your account is suspended or terminated for violating these terms, you are not entitled to a refund of any fees paid.

    7.4 Changes to Paid Features

    We may add, modify, or remove paid features at any time. If we materially reduce a paid offering, active subscribers will be notified and may cancel without penalty.

    8. Virtual Items & In-Game Currency

    Any virtual items, in-game currency, clubs, players, or other digital assets within WLM are licensed to you, not sold. You have no ownership rights in virtual items. We may modify, remove, or reset virtual items at any time. Virtual items have no real-world monetary value and may not be traded, sold, or exchanged outside the game.

    9. Service Availability & Outages

    9.1 Availability

    We aim to provide the Service on a 24/7 basis but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

    • Scheduled maintenance (we will endeavour to provide advance notice where possible).
    • Emergency maintenance or urgent bug fixes.
    • Server failures, network issues, or third-party service disruptions beyond our control.
    • Force majeure events including but not limited to natural disasters, cyber-attacks, government actions, or pandemic-related disruptions.

    9.2 Match Windows & Outages

    WLM operates on a scheduled match window system. If a service outage occurs during or immediately before a match window:

    • We may, at our discretion, delay, reschedule, or void affected match windows.
    • We are not obligated to compensate users for missed matches, lost results, or any competitive disadvantage arising from an outage.
    • In the event of a prolonged outage, we may pause the season, adjust standings, or take other corrective measures as we see fit.

    9.3 No Compensation

    We shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience caused by service downtime, including but not limited to missed transfer deadlines, expired auctions, or unfulfilled match preparations. Supporter subscribers are not entitled to billing credits or refunds for periods of downtime unless the outage exceeds 7 consecutive days, in which case affected subscribers may request a pro-rata credit.

    10. Data & Privacy

    Your use of WLM is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of data as described therein. We may collect gameplay data, usage analytics, and performance metrics to improve the Service.

    11. Intellectual Property

    All game content, including but not limited to code, design, graphics, text, match engine logic, generated player names, club names, and badge designs, is the intellectual property of World League Manager or its licensors. Real-world player data and club data is used under applicable data licences and remains the property of the respective rights holders.

    You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

    12. User-Generated Content

    Any content you submit through the Service (including in-game messages, forum posts, or feedback) grants us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Service. You must not submit content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or infringes on any third party's rights.

    13. Termination

    We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Grounds for termination include but are not limited to: violation of these terms, suspected fraud, prolonged inactivity (accounts inactive for more than 12 months may be deleted), or any behaviour we deem detrimental to the community or the Service.

    Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We are not obligated to retain, return, or provide access to any account data, game progress, or virtual items.

    14. Disclaimer of Warranties

    The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected.

    15. Limitation of Liability

    To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, World League Manager, its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of enjoyment, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.

    Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us for Supporter subscriptions in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.

    16. Indemnification

    You agree to indemnify and hold harmless World League Manager and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third party's rights.

    17. Governing Law & Disputes

    These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

    18. Severability

    If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

    19. Entire Agreement

    These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and World League Manager regarding your use of the Service.
