Board Confidence - How It Works and How to Survive
Career & Board
Board Confidence
Your board evaluates your performance continuously. Keep them happy or risk the sack.
How Board Confidence Works
Board confidence is a weighted average of five factors:
- Fan confidence (50%) - Driven by match results, league position, and streaks. The most impactful factor.
- Dressing room confidence (20%) - Mirrors your squad morale level. Boost morale daily to keep this high.
- Finance confidence (10%) - Compares your current club valuation to the baseline when you were appointed.
- Coaching confidence (10%) - Equals your training level. Train daily to maintain it.
- Media relations (10%) - Affected by match predictions, press conferences, and engagement.
Higher-prestige clubs (P4–P5) have less patience and will sack you faster. Lower-prestige clubs (P1–P2) are more forgiving.
What Helps Board Confidence
- Winning matches consistently
- Exceeding pre-season expectations
- Good financial management (not overspending)
- Cup runs and European qualification
- Maintaining high team morale
What Hurts Board Confidence
- Losing streaks
- Finishing below expectations
- Overspending on transfers with poor returns
- Low team morale
- Cup embarrassments against weaker opponents
The Danger Zone
If board confidence drops below critical levels for consecutive weeks, you'll be sacked. The number of consecutive low weeks before dismissal depends on overall performance context.
Tips
- Monitor your board confidence weekly
- Address the lowest-scoring factor first
- A cup win can rescue a poor league run
- Good financial management provides a buffer
