Managing Your Wage Budget
Your wage bill is one of your biggest ongoing costs. Managing it well is key to long-term success.
Understanding Your Wages
- Each player has a weekly wage proportional to their quality
- Your total wage bill is the sum of all player wages
- Wages are deducted automatically each match week
- View your wage breakdown on the Finances page
Reducing Your Wage Bill
- Sell high-wage players you don't use regularly
- Replace expensive players with cheaper alternatives of similar quality
- Release unwanted players to remove their wage entirely
- Avoid unnecessary signings that inflate your payroll
Wage Budget Planning
- Always check a player's wage before signing them
- Compare the new signing's wage to your current player in that position
- Consider whether the performance improvement justifies the wage increase
- Leave wage headroom for future signings
