Understanding Player Performance Scores (PS)
Squad Management
Performance Scores (PS)
PS is the core metric in WLM. It represents a player's match-day contribution based on real-world data.
What PS Includes
- Real-world match ratings from actual football matches
- Recent form weighting - more recent performances count more
- Position-specific adjustments - different positions value different stats
- Match fitness - players who play regularly score higher
How PS Affects Matches
- Your squad's total PS across zones determines your zone strengths
- Higher PS in a zone means you're more likely to dominate that zone
- Zone dominance drives xG, which drives goal probability
PS vs Valuation
PS and valuation are related but different:
- PS is current match-day effectiveness
- Valuation includes age, potential, and market factors
- A veteran with high PS might have low valuation due to age
- A young player with moderate PS might have high valuation due to potential
Improving Your Squad's PS
- Sign players who are performing well in real life
- Release or sell players with consistently low PS
- Use training to boost attributes
- Ensure players are in their natural positions (100% PS vs 75% out of position)
