Using the Scout Report to Beat Your Opponent
Tactics & Strategy
Scout Reports
Scout reports give you detailed intelligence on your next opponent. Using them effectively gives you a measurable edge.
What the Scout Report Shows
- Opponent's likely formation - Based on their recent selections
- Key threats - Their highest-rated players and danger positions
- Tactical tendencies - Preferred game plan and strategies
- Weaknesses - Zones where they're vulnerable
- Recommended counter-formation - A suggested setup to exploit their weaknesses
- Man-mark targets - High-value players worth neutralising
How to Use Scout Reports
- Check the report 24 hours before each match
- Note the opponent's formation and adjust yours accordingly
- If they're weak in midfield, consider Possession game plan
- If their attack is strong, reinforce your defence
- Consider man-marking their highest-rated attacker
Adapting vs Consistency
Some managers prefer to set one tactic and stick with it. Others adapt every match based on scout reports. Both approaches can work, but adapting to each opponent generally produces better results.
